AIM School teachers are under the direction of Kortni Nelson. Kortni has Early Childhood Teaching degrees and years of experience teaching in districts around Washington State. AIM School Curriculum is developmentally appropriate and full of purposeful play centers that focus on academic and social-emotional readiness. We accept registrations year-round.

Our first ever preschool class designed for ages 2-3. Children are introduced to developing social-emotional skills while engaging in play-based activities such as a sensory table, creative art, building blocks, and dramatic play centers. The class focus is an introduction to basic preschool and classroom skills during singing at carpet time and instruction on shapes, colors, numbers, and letters throughout the day. Children play with a purpose alongside knowledgeable teachers who have been educated on developmentally appropriate practices. Gross Motor skills are also introduced during recess in the gym.

Preschool B

Children continue to develop social-emotional skills while engaging in play-based activities such as the sensory table, creative art, building blocks, and dramatic play centers. Classroom competence strengthens through the beginning to learn letter names, letter sounds, counting, colors, and rhyming. Pre-reading and writing skills are introduced through carpet time and organic learning opportunities that are captured by our experienced teachers who play alongside the kids. This class also takes advantage of the large gym area for recess time to develop their gross motor skills. Children also participate in hands-on, student-led projects that create inquiry, problem-solving opportunities, teamwork, and planning.

Preschool C

This class is designed to help your older preschooler or younger kindergartener prepare for the rigorous transition to full-day kindergarten in the district. In addition to everything covered in the 3 days a week preschool, teachers are able to enhance the student's educational experience by going deeper and gaining student engagement.

Students that participate in this class thrive in kindergarten because they are academically, socially, and emotionally prepared given the extra days and time to grow and develop. Students also expand their learning into the world around them by participating in one field trip a month.

Customers asked and we delivered! As an extension of our early childhood center, we are offering a Kindergarten class. This new class is for ages 5-6-year-olds as well as kids who need an extra year to adjust in a smaller setting before entering public school.  This class is offered 4 days a week with a shorter day to amplify the academic time in the classroom which is project-based and learning through play; not through worksheets. Students learn through a multi-disciplinary approach where kids have so much fun they don’t know they are doing school! Enrichment activities include gymnastics, Spanish, history, art, and cooking.

Early Elementary

Lower Elementary

Our Elementary Multi-Age class will be a mixture of ages 8-10 (grades 2-4). Our schedule brings a shorter day to amplify the academic time in the classroom. Student-led projects determine the curriculum. Common core state standards are part of the end goal so that students are successful in completing each standard to be on target for the next grade. Teachers will reference the WA Kids developmental continuum to assure each child is hitting benchmarks developmentally as well.

Upper Elementary

.  Our elementary program was created over the COVID years and has continued per family requests. Because of this, we are constantly evolving into an alternative education choice in Moses Lake. After three years, our student base is growing to possibly add a third classroom for 9-12 year old’s. We are currently interviewing for a teacher who is in line with our curriculum expectations and multi-age teaching approach.
